Live Streaming Northwestern University's Dance Marathon
For 42 years, one of the biggest student philanthropy events in the nation has been the annual Northwestern University Dance Marathon. In each of the last few years, over 1,000 students participated in the event raising over $1 million each year for their designated charities.
For a dozen years, Northwestern University Advanced Media Production Studio (NUAMP), a professional production studio within NU Information Technology’s Academic and Research Technologies division, has aided the event with live production, and in recent years, live streaming. The live stream audience has grown to more than 10,000 unique viewers from 48 countries who tuned in for the 30 hours of the 2015 live stream.
